Potatoes
The soil of Flevoland is famous for its fabulous potatoes. These potatoes are sold as french fries (Aviko) or as table potatoes (Agrico) in the supermarket or at your greengrocer.
Carrots are a source of vitamins and minerals
Carrots contain many vitamins, like vitamine A, C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and E. Because of all these healthy nutrients & extra minerals carrots are vasodilating. Carrots have a positive influence on the heart and increase the red blood corpuscles in the human body.
The purple carrot is juicier and sweeter in taste and contains 40% more carotene.
Purple carrots contain a much higher level of Beta carotene than orange carrots. Beta carotene will be converted in our body into vitamin A. It improves your immunity and is important for your vision and growth.
Yellow carrots keep your eyes in good shape and are rich in Lutein.
Yellow carrots are rich in lutein; this nutrient keeps your eyes in good shape. Lutein belongs to the bio active nutrients and is part of the carotenoids.
The consumption of white carrots support a healthy intestinal flora.
White carrots contain naturally a high percentage of fibers for a healthy intestinal flora.
Purple haze, for the healthiness of our eyes and immune system
Purple carrots contain higher concentrations of Anthocyanin and Beta carotene. Beta carotene is converted into Vitamin A. This is an essential nutrient for the healthiness of our eyes and immune system.
Beets, we grow beets in a lot of varieties and colours.
Kroot is derived from the french carotte, an alternative name for kroot is beet. A beet has a slightly sweet taste. Beets can be eaten warm, but you can also cool them and eat them in a salad.
Candy beets raw, thinly sliced, a remarkable white-red beet
Candy beets are remarkable beets. They draw attention with their white-red coloured flesh. When used raw, thinly sliced beets keep their white & red coloured rings.
Yellow beets can be used in salads or as thinly sliced carpaccio.
This fresh yellow beet has a high decorative value because of its deep yellow colour! They are very tasteful raw in salads or thinly sliced as carpaccio.
White beet, great quality for various dishes
Beautiful, bright, white beets with a sweet taste. The earthy taste in combination with the slightly sweet flavour make these beets unique for various dishes. The flesh of the white beet is white veined and of great quality.
Long beets carillon, very suitable for dishes, salads & soups
Due to its length these beets are very suitable for making into slices and using in salads. Besides that they are also very suitable for soups & other dishes, because of its beautiful red colour.

Parsnip can be used baked, deep fried, or mashed in a “stamppot”
The long parsnip is a little less firm than the regular carrot. Parsnip can be baked or mashed in a “stamppot”. The parsnip can be deep fried too. A deep fried parsnip looks like a potato chip.
Root parsley can be used in soup, sauce or in a nice “stamppot”
Root parsley looks colour wise and shape wise the most like a parsnip, but the taste is more like regular parsley with a nutty flavour. Delicious in soups and sauces, but also in a “stamppot” (a Dutch potato and vegetable mashed dish)
The onion is popular all over the world
Onions have a strong smell and taste. In general unions have a little skin over a layered heart. Onions are used all over the world and vary in different sizes and colours.
We grow bread making wheat for the best bread
We grow wheat mainly to let the soil rest. We try, by choosing the right varieties, to grow a nice quality of bread making wheat. Bread making wheat is grown on small scale, mainly for regional varieties of bread, such as Koopmans in the Veldleeuwerik project.
Malting barley for Heineken beer
Zonneheerdt grows barley because it is a beautiful product and in the summer the soil is quickly available again for the growth of a good green manure crop. Our barley goes via Agrifirm to Hollandmalt where it will be processed by Heineken as Veldleeuwerik crop with a sustainability guarantee.
Sugar beets for the production of sugar in the broadest sense
It is impossible to imagine our lives nowadays without sugar. We even make plastic from it! We use every part of this plant, including the pulp. They even make green manure crop from it. Cosun and Suikerunie are the processors for sugar.
